Kindergarten Post Office Open for Business!

The kindergarten post office is open and ready for business! After a visit to the old Lancaster Post Office and learning in class how it works, kindergarten learners are buying postage, mailing letters, processing the mail, and delivering the mail to personalized P.O. boxes.

What are they mailing? Their Valentines, of course! The young workers have to collaborate, work sequentially, count coins and stamps, and match all those P.O. Box numbers in order to correctly deliver those heartfelt messages.

This is part of Kindergarten’s Me and My Community project, which asks, “What is my role within the community?”
