iLEAD Lancaster

MINIMUM DAY Thursday, March 21st for LLCs!

There will a minimum day this Thursday, March 21st, to accommodate Learner-Led Conferences.

Two dates are available for your scheduling needs: Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22.

What is a Learner-Led Conference? We’re so glad you asked! Here is an explanation shared by our 1st grade team (thank you Ms. Geri, Ms. Mayra, and Mrs. Jonsen!)

We are very excited to invite you to Learner-Led Conferences! This is a time for your child to showcase their growth and reflection of this school year. Your learner must be present in order for this to take place. As such, below is a list of your role, your child’s role, and the facilitators’ role during the conference.

Learner Role: Learners lead their parents through classroom subject stations. They will discuss what they have been working on at each station. They will discuss their progress and their challenges. They will also share their Leadership Notebook and reflection on their ILP goals.

Parent Role: Parents walk through stations with their learners, listening attentively. They may prompt and ask questions for more information, if needed. At the end, parents reflect with children on the process, discussing progress challenges. Parents and learners might discuss updating goals, if needed.

Facilitator Role: During this time, facilitators will be roaming the classroom to check in with families. They might provide some prompting, if needed, but the learners are truly in charge of this conference. Facilitators can provide clarification as needed.

Remember, other families will be present at the same time. If you are interested in discussing your child’s progress, please make a separate appointment. Please schedule a time with your child’s facilitator.

Thank you, and we look forward to hosting you in our classrooms!
