iLEAD in Dancing Feet Youth Ballroom Competition
Our learners did marvelously at the Dancing Feet Youth Ballroom Competition! Several of our dancers placed in various dances, but ALL dancers showed poise, finesse, and etiquette on the dance floor. Coaches Margaret Wassner and Breeanna Yockey beamed with pride as our talented competitors took the dance floor in. iLEAD even won the Spirit Award for going above and beyond in participation, etiquette, and generosity of spirit. It was a very impressive event and we were very impressive participants.

2nd Grade Went Back to the Future
At their POL on Friday, March 4, 2nd grade learners were so excited to create their Past, Present, and Future Museum answering the driving question “How can I, as a historian, show changing times using artifacts and imagine their use in the future?”

Each innovative learner researched and brought in items from the past and present and then tried to create a prototype of what they imagined that item would look like and and be used for in the future. It was awesome!

Then the learners acted as docents at the POL and escorted their visitors around the exhibits. Also displayed were each learner’s past, present, and future selves with artwork including their baby picture, school picture, and their created art piece of themselves at 100 years old. Facilitators, families, and learners were extremely proud!

Middle Schoolers Welcome Lockheed Martin’s Engineers
Our middle school learners enjoyed a great day of learning and fun with Engineers in the Classroom from Lockheed Martin. This STEM program is designed to identify, develop, inspire and channel students into careers that draw their foundation from science, technology, engineering and math courses. Our learners worked together in teams to build a stomp rocket based on Newton’s Third Law of Motion (for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction).
